The FL100 Grow is the slim-bar fixture in the DGT LED range that carries the Grow spectrum, the one tuned for the plant rather than for the people working beneath it, and the one with the least white light of the three FL100 spectra. At 1165 mm long, 3 kg and 75 to 150 W, it is a very different proposition from the larger FL300 units, and it suits open glasshouses and growing in stacked layers.
Spectrum is the point of this model. The blue share can be set anywhere from 2 to 14 % of total light, with a small green and white component of 1 to 5 %, and power is adjusted through the controller. Because the proportion of blue influences how compact a crop grows, you can tune the light to the variety and its stage, and dim whenever less light is needed.
An optical lens system lets us lay the fixtures out on a conventional plan, much as you would plan an HPS installation, with each bar covering up to 12 m² depending on the intensity you run. Fixtures can be linked together, which is why the FL100 family is well suited to vertical farming and multi-tier benches. Control comes from an LCC4 climate computer, a small Control Unit handling up to 49 fixtures, or the LED Light Controller alongside another make of climate computer. With so little white in the mix, this spectrum looks strongly coloured to anyone working under it. If your team needs comfortable working light, look at the FL100 Grow White or FL100 Sunlight; for a single, heavier overhead fixture, look at the FL300.
