From Local Roots to Regional Leaders in Irrigation

We started Sitetech Horticultural Engineers with a simple belief: The UK’s growers deserved better irrigation solutions than what was available. Having spent decades in the industry and talking with international and UK growers, we understood the frustration of dealing with inefficient watering systems and one-size-fits-all solutions that never quite fit.

How We Got Started

Simon, our founder, spent years working in both horticulture and engineering before spotting a gap in the market. Local growers were either making do with outdated systems or paying premium prices for installations that didn’t understand the unique challenges of the UK’s climate and soil conditions. We knew we could do better.

We began by helping soft fruit and ornamental growers improve their irrigation setups. Word spread quickly – here was a company that actually listened, understood the needs, and delivered systems that worked. Today, we’ve grown to serve farms across Lancashire and beyond, but we’ve never forgotten those early lessons about the importance of local knowledge and personal service.

What Drives Us Forward

Every morning, our team arrives knowing that our work directly impacts the success of local food production. That’s a responsibility we take seriously. Whether we’re designing a complex irrigation system for a 200-acre operation or fabricating custom parts for a specialist grower, we approach each project with the same dedication and attention to detail.

But the most valuable asset we have isn’t machinery – it’s the accumulated knowledge from hundreds of successful installations and the relationships we’ve built with growers who trust us with their livelihoods.

Main UK Distributor for DGT by Senmatic

In 2026, Sitetech was appointed the main UK distributor for DGT by Senmatic, the Danish manufacturer of horticultural climate computers, fertigation systems and LED grow lighting, with more than 65 years of engineering behind the range.

It is a natural fit for how we have always worked. We design irrigation as one system rather than a box of parts, and the DGT range lets us bring climate, watering, feeding and lighting together as a single design, specified, installed and supported by the same small team. For UK growers, it means European-manufactured growing technology with a local partner on the end of the phone.

The full range, complete with downloadable data sheets, is now available to browse in our online equipment catalogue.

The partnership is a working one, not a badge. In September 2026 we exhibited side by side with DGT by Senmatic at the Four Oaks Trade Show, with Kristoffer Hvalsøe joining us on stand D98 from Denmark for both days — manufacturer and UK partner answering growers’ questions together, with live demo units running on the stand. You can read more in our Four Oaks 2026 round-up.
