Mobile benches change how irrigation has to be designed. If container benches are lifted by crane or carried along conveyor tracks, there can be no fixed pipework in their way. The DGT mobile bench irrigation set is made for exactly this: the bench is moved freely, and water is connected and released by two small valves on the bench itself.
Filling is done by the triangle valve, which delivers water in a splash-free jet so the filling does not disturb the bench. A special bracket fixes it to the bench drain edge. The valve and bracket are shaped so that as a crane lifts the bench, the valve is moved aside rather than damaged, and the bench is left unharmed too. The valve is made in black nylon and comes in two sizes: the 8 x 6 mm version for 8 to 14 L/min and the 10.5 x 8 mm version for 12 to 20 L/min, each at a recommended 1.3 to 3.3 bar and supplied with a resistance tube.
Draining is by the HV 3 siphon valve. Once the siphon stops, a built-in final emptying construction lets the last water run out at about 0.2 L/min, which also helps where benches carry a lot of dirt. The siphon is adjustable in steps, so the water level on the bench can be set between 45 and 60 mm above the bottom of the sump. It fits a 26 to 30 mm hole with a 3/4 inch thread, weighs only 50 g and has a closing function.
