The LG405 shares its 19 kg, 455 x 183 x 220 mm body with the LG403, but protects the vent in a different way. Rather than the torque-sensing approach of the LG403, it carries a double limit switch: so a fault in one switch does not leave the motor without a correct stop. This matters in real installations, because a wrong phase connection during wiring or a fault in the motor relay can damage one switch, and the second still stops the motor correctly.
Performance matches the larger vent jobs: up to 400 Nm, and DGT states a capacity of approximately 120 m of window opening. The LG405 data sheet also covers some awkward supplies. As well as 1 x 208-230 V and three-phase 50 Hz versions, it lists 60 Hz items including 1 x 115-125 V (not offered on the LG403) and 3 x 330-575 V, which we can use for non-standard electrical supplies. Some versions allow up to 40 rotations between limit switches, useful for longer screen travel, and a version for Venlo blocks is offered.
Output speeds from 1.2 to 6.8 RPM are listed at 50 Hz, and we choose between them by rack length and by whether the motor is driving vents or screens. As with the LG403, full benefit of the double limit switch comes from connecting an RO901 or RO902 motor relay. The flange motor can be removed without opening the gearbox, and a position potentiometer can be built in.
Which of the two large motors is right depends on the structure and the supply, and we make that call during design of your vent and screen controls. Sitetech specifies, installs and supports the LG405 as main UK distributor for DGT by Senmatic.
